This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) tells you about the privacy practices governing personal information we may collect when you visit our website at soulbirdconsulting.info, and how we may use and share that information. Your prior activities on the site may have been governed by an earlier version of this Policy.  This site is intended for use in the United States.

From time to time, we may use your information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our Policy. If our information practices do change materially, we will post the changes to our site and revise our Policy accordingly.  In addition, if we have collected personally identifying information from you, we will notify you and secure your consent before using your personal information in new ways not described in this Policy.

What Information Do We Collect?

Personal Information:

We collect personal information you choose to provide to us in connection with your activities on the site.  This information may include your first and last name, email address, employer or workplace, license number if you are a practicing social worker, counselor, or marriage and family therapist, and the content of messages you may send us.  We will also collect any information or content you provide when setting up a user account and when participating in online training.  This may include your answers to training questions.

Other User Information We Collect:

In addition, for each visitor to our site, we may automatically gather certain other potentially identifying information and store it in log files.  This information includes (as applicable) log-in and log-out times, progress completing educational programs, geolocation data, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, your operating system, date/time stamp, processor or device serial number, unique device identifier, and clickstream data.  If you participate in a videoconference with us, we may record the videoconference.  We collect and store this information on an individual basis and in aggregate, or combined, form.

Cookies:

A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user’s computer for record-keeping purposes.  If you reject cookies, you may still use our site, but your ability to use some areas of our site may be limited.  We use cookies to make it easier for you to navigate our site, to record session information, such as which web pages a user has visited, to track user activity on our site, and for site security.

“Do Not Track” Signals:

We do not currently have the capability to recognize browser “Do Not Track” signals. We adhere to the standards set forth in this Policy.

Analytics:

Advertising:

How Do We Use and Share the Information We Collect?

We store and process your personal information to facilitate the provision of our services to you, to provide educational training programming, to fulfill requests for information and respond to other messages you send through our Contact page, to provide customer support, and to provide and maintain other services through the site. We may send you emails on special offers, topics, events, or products we think will interest you; you may unsubscribe from these emails at any time.  However, unsubscribing will limit our ability to provide you with services and information. We may also use information we collect to analyze trends, to administer the site, and to improve the site and make it more useful to visitors.

If you participate in an educational program, we will use information and content we obtain from you to track your progress in, and completion of, the program.  We may also share your completion of educational programs and related personal information with your employer and professional licensing organizations, as applicable.

If we record a videoconference in which you participate, we may share that recording with others for educational or marketing purposes.  By participating in videoconferences, you consent to such use of the recordings.

It is possible that, at some time in the future, our company may be sold along with its assets, or may engage in business transactions in which customer information is one of the assets transferred. In such a case, the customer information which we have gathered may be one of the business assets we transfer. 

We do not rent, sell or otherwise share your personal information to unaffiliated third parties, except as described above.

How Long Do We Keep the Information We Collect?

We will retain your personal information in accordance with our continuing need to service this relationship, to improve our site, and/or as may be required by law. 

Security

The security of your personal information is important to us. We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, and to guard that information against loss, misuse, or alteration. Please note, however, that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we use commercially reasonable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

This Policy applies only to information collected by this site. Our site may also link you to other websites (“Linked Sites”), most of which are not owned by us. Browsing and interacting on another website is subject to that website’s own terms and policies. We make no representations about the privacy policies or practices of the Linked Sites. Be careful of disclosing any of your personally identifiable information when leaving our site. Children

This site is not intended or designed to attract children; it is for use by adults 18 years of age or older.  We do not collect any information from any person we actually know is a child under the age of 13.

California Privacy Rights

Pursuant to California Civil Code Section 1798.83 and the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (the “CCPA”), users who are California residents can request certain information about the sharing of their own personal information with third parties for direct marketing purposes during the past year.  The information which you have a right to receive includes the categories of personal information disclosed by us for direct marketing purposes during the preceding calendar year and the names of the companies that received such information.  You are entitled to receive a copy of this information in a standardized format, and the information will not be specific to you individually.

California residents have the right to request that we delete any of your personal information that we collected from you and retained, in certain circumstances. Once we receive and confirm your request to delete, we will delete from our records, and direct our service providers to delete from their records, your personal information, in certain circumstances.

California residents can request this disclosure by sending a verifiable request to us using the contact information provided above.  Please provide sufficient information to allow us to identify you in our records.  You may only make a request to know twice in a twelve-month period.  You have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment by us for the exercise of the privacy rights conferred by the CCPA.
