In your work, you will likely come across individuals who have experienced trauma and have a deep desire (and biological need!) for connection, yet experience great challenges in feeling safe in relationships. At Soul Bird, we know that trauma and healing don’t happen in isolation. Trauma and healing both happen in the context of relationships, which is why our training offers centering ways of being and things to do to join people right where they are on their healing journey.

As professionals and caregivers, it’s easy to get distracted by symptoms and pathology prior to understanding someone deeply in order to design tailored services and methods of support.
This session offers insight on the biographical timeline framework and how to show up as a team member. It also makes a case for WHY learning from someone's biography BEFORE designing services and supports is imperative.
Engaging in a biographical timeline process helps teams generate an understanding of the whole person by mapping their life story and generating trauma-responsive approaches for building resilience, healing, and growth.
This session will:
Outline the purpose and principles of the biographical timeline framework
Offer a deep dive into the components and roles of a biographical timeline
Highlight how team members in a timeline session can contribute during each step
